Little Miss Sunshine

Trying to keep afloat.
Work intake high.
Projects booked to the max.
All while fighting a bug.

Denial and procrastinating with online scrabble games.

Will be less critical of my writing to get blog back to speed.

Project 1

Hope to finish backing the trays in the next couple hours then on to..

Project 2.

Need to make a batch of a dozen new necklaces, and earrings by the end of tonight.

And... There you go.

Asian Food Fest Extravaganza

The first two photos were taken at Park Korean BBQ, in K- town. The last pic was taken at Hop Louie in Chinatown. If only I had photos of our recent trip to Gobi Mongolian BBQ. So good!

Having no aim or purpose..

Night owls of the world unite!
There is no reason for me to be up this late but to sabotage the only good night of sleep I can possibly have this week.  I wanted to write about the eventful weekend I just had.  It includes the amazing Unique LA show, the first holiday party My family's attended this season, and the beautiful  Fiesta Hanukkah my husband took our son too.  However, I have NO PHOTOS available atm.  I think blogs without photos are blah.  So here are some gems from my iPhoto that I choose in no particular order.

The view from the Oviatt Penthouse where Bebop and I were married.  (We took this pic the day we went scouting for our wedding location)

That's all for now...

Under Pressure

Unique LA is in less than a week and I am in a rush to get my poo-poo together..  This is the first year we participate in the holiday event for Unique.  I am furiously beefing up my inventory by adding a mix of eclectic textures, colors and unexpected components.  I've made 30 new pieces this weekend!  It must be the thrill of possibly not finishing on time that gives me the extra boost.  Or perhaps it's these little cuties I've been munching on!

I am also excited about featuring my newest business venture and home accessories line, Poubelle Paste and Paper Co.  The business is still so new, so we don't have any info online yet, but I'll post photos once we get the ball rolling.  In the meantime here is a photo of my new chunky charm bracelets!

Dinner & Shopping Echo Park style!

In an attempt to have a Saturday night on the town with our 1 year old, my husband piled us in the car and hit the streets driving at a cool 35 miles an hour.  First stop was the El Compadre, home of the flaming margaritas.  We visited the Echo Park location which has recently been remodeled. They added additional space behind the bar to accommodate the folks who like to come in for the drinky-drink.  Ah, that used to be us...  Anyway, we ordered our food and enjoyed the tunes played by the house band.  They typically have a romantic Mariachi Trio, but this night only had a genius on the keyboard and another guy singing.  Not to down play it or anything -they were good!  We just wanted the real deal and they were not there.  The food is alright, but having had Mexican food from my mom's kitchen, I am spoiled.  It's good for gavacho standards for sure.  Plus I think the flaming margarita is amazing!

What can happen in this lighting at El Compadre?

Not ready to call it a night, my son, Peaboo decided to take us on a stroll down Sunset Blvd.  My attention took to an adorable little store front... Warwick!  I was immediately impressed that it was open late, but come to find out it is a 'late night' vintage boutique.  How awesome is that?!  They carry beautiful clothes in pristine condition not like that smelly stuff you find in thrift stores.  They also offer in house tailoring.. FOR FREE!  Okay Warwick, cause you already had me at hello!   It was not hard to find two pretty blouses that I had to have.  I will surely be back for more!

Warwick's beautiful shop greets you with fishbowls filled with succulent plants and light bulbs!

Drinx at Taix

An old fashioned 'stuff your face' kinda place- that is Taix!  (Although Bebop and I were only there for drinks with friends this time) The classic french style bar is so  decent.  With live music in the background, friendly staff and cool locals, it just does not get more laid back than this in LA.

I took a trip to the powder room after a couple of these potent potions and woah!  Time travel does exist!  I was instantly transported to Montmartre, in the days of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and his absinthe drinking buddies.

Oh la la! in the land of the la..
